New York Times Dropping Most Social Media Trackers

I don't fully understand this... it seems like they are still using FB + Google pixels to measure conversion to subscriber... but they just aren't putting the pixels on EVERY page so that FB/Google can't suck up all of the browsing data. And they also built a tool to target interests on FB and Twitter... but of course a lot of that interest data is based on users' browsing behavior on other random sites which is exactly what the NYT is trying to blockk on their own site. Or maybe I just don't get it.AXIOS.COM
